Buene pads a rendu visite aux élèves du Collège scolaire Naomi dans la province du sud kivu

Buene Hope Foundation, through its impactful initiative Buene Pads, carried out a meaningful outreach at Collège Scolaire Naomi in Bukavu, South Kivu (Kadutu commune).

This visit was part of the foundation’s ongoing mission to support young girls by addressing one of the most overlooked yet critical aspects of their well-being: menstrual health education.

Breaking the Silence Around Menstruation

In many communities, menstruation remains surrounded by silence, misconceptions, and stigma. These barriers often prevent young girls from accessing the knowledge and support they need, affecting their confidence, school attendance, and overall well-being.

During this session, the Buene Pads team created a safe and open space where students could learn, ask questions, and engage in honest conversations about their bodies.

The awareness session focused on:

  • Understanding the menstrual cycle
  • Proper hygiene practices
  • Debunking common myths and misconceptions
  • Encouraging self-confidence and dignity

 Providing Practical Support

Beyond education, the initiative also focused on tangible support.

Each participant received:

  • Hygienic sanitary pads to support safe menstrual management
  • Educational books to reinforce knowledge and promote continued learning

These resources are essential in helping girls manage their periods with confidence and dignity, both at school and at home.

A Step Toward Dignity and Opportunity

Access to menstrual hygiene is not just a health issue — it is directly linked to education, equality, and opportunity.

By equipping girls with knowledge and resources, Buene Hope Foundation is helping to:

  • Reduce school absenteeism
  • Restore confidence and self-esteem
  • Empower girls to pursue their education without interruption

Continuing the Mission

This outreach is one of many actions under the Buene Pads project, which aims to break barriers and create lasting change for girls in underserved communities.

Buene Hope Foundation remains committed to promoting:

  • Health
  • Dignity
  • Education

for every girl, everywhere.
